Alex Bloc

Born in Strasbourg, Alex Bloc (Alex Bloch) has spent over twenty years exploring geometry as a language of perception. Heir to optical and constructivist art, he creates poetic architectures where line, light, and matter interact.

His works, poised between precision and fragility, transform flat surfaces into reliefs or optical illusions, inviting a contemplative experience.

Through his site-specific interventions, he celebrates impermanence, transition, and the subtle vibration of the world.

Rivage, the exhibition

Inspired by the coastline between Biarritz and San Sebastián, Rivage explores the perceptual structures of the shore: horizons, cliffs, waves, mineral strata, and shifting light. Through a geometric and optical vocabulary, Alex Bloc translates these elements into vibrating lines, grids, and reliefs. Rather than depicting the landscape, the works convey its rhythms, tensions, and movements. The shoreline thus becomes a space of transition, between stability and disappearance, geometric order and natural forces.
