In this large composition (160 × 97 cm), Sidney Carron shifts Senegalese wrestling towards the realm of myth. Everything is at play in this alchemy of erasure layers, frictions, imprints, areas eroded as if by slow oxidation. The wrestlers become radiographic silhouettes, at the boundary between ritual and memory, suspended in a moment where violence transforms into dance. Sidney does not describe a fight; he transmutes an ancestral gesture into a floating, almost sacred image, where one can sense the breath, the heat, and the silence.
